BlackBerry manufacturer Research In Motion expects smartphone sales they will grow to 100 million handsets in two years."We're close to 60 million BlackBerry subscribers now. If we continue to make hard efforts, we will reach 100 million subscribers in recent years, two years exactly, says RIM Co-Chief Executive Jim Balsillie told Reuters in an interview on the sidelines of the summit G20 CEO in Seoul, Wednesday (10/11).
Balsillie said that their company will also launch a tablet computer called PlayBook in the first quarter of next year in North America before introducing globally in the second quarter. "The tablet will start contributing to sales of 100 million of our customers," he said.
Balsillie also said demand for BlackBerry in Asia remain strong and not affected by security issues. He also refused to investor concerns that the Canadian company continues to lose market share from rivals like Apple and Google.
