Iceland unanimously approved a proposal to change the media law in there and make Iceland as the "new media heaven." proposal in pioneered and highly supported by the site WikiLeaks. Iceland's parliament has approved the proposal.
The Modern Icelandic Media Initiative aims to create a set of laws with strong protection for freedom of expression and speech. aim not only to local publications, but the wider publication. the idea is to create a haven for international journalism and to protect any publication that established a base in Iceland against the threat of the law in other countries.
With this agreement, parliament must set the new legislation, which aims to combine the best parts of similar laws in other countries. This is an ambitious step and a great victory for freedom of speech around the world.
